Who got paid.

Somebody collected. That is the whole second file. A child does not walk a thousand miles on a vibe. A fee is paid, a route is sold, a sponsor is a customer, and a government that opens the door is the marketing department. DHS's own estimate, cited by House Homeland Security and by InSight Crime: human smuggling into the United States was generating as much as $13 billion a year by 2021 — Biden's first year. The Washington Post, November 2024: $4 billion to $12 billion a year as a top income stream. ILO's global trafficking number — about $150 billion worldwide — is a different ledger. Do not mix them. The border product is the fee and the child as inventory.

The customer was an open door. The seller was a cartel.

CBP recorded 546,255 unaccompanied children at the southwest border since FY2021, on top of 8.72 million southwest encounters and about 2 million known gotaways. Somebody collected on every one of those bodies. Fentanyl rode the same lanes. That is not a metaphor. Former CBP officers in San Diego sold the shift: Jesse Clark Garcia, nine years, admitted since at least 2021 he fed the Sinaloa Cartel his duty schedule so cocaine, meth, and fentanyl could roll his lane. Diego Bonillo, 15 years. Leonard Darnell George, 23 years, bribes to pass drugs and people. The cartels did not need a senator in a movie. They needed a roster and a lane.

Who is on the tape — and who is not

This journal will not invent a Congressman on a Sinaloa payroll because a chyron wants one. If there is no indictment, we say so. April 2026: the United States indicted ten current and former Mexican officials — Morena party — for aiding Sinaloa trafficking. On this side of the river: Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) and his wife were indicted May 3, 2024, for about $600,000 in alleged bribes from Azerbaijan's state oil company and a Mexico City bank — not a named cartel, a bank and a foreign government. Two of his advisers pleaded guilty to laundering more than $200,000 of the Mexican-bank money. Trump later pardoned Cuellar. The pardon does not erase the charging document. It also does not turn the document into a Sinaloa membership card. We will not do that cut. If a Republican took the same cash, print his name the same day.

The political tie that does not need a secret meeting is the term in office. The Democratic Party ran the border from 2021 to 2025. Encounters exploded. Cartel revenue exploded. 65,000 child-welfare reports sat in a drawer. Then the same party told the country to defund the only force that knocks on the sponsor's door. Who got paid: the cartel, the bought lane, the bank that needed a congressman, the contractor who processed the child like freight. Who got the child: too often, nobody who will say where she is. Part three is the tell — the vote to abolish the search. Part one is still the child. Do not skip her to enjoy the math.
